Frequently asked questions
What is keratoconus?
Keratoconus is a condition where the cornea (the clear front window of the eye) thins and bulges into a cone shape, distorting vision. It usually starts in the teens or twenties.
What is C3R / corneal cross-linking?
C3R (corneal collagen cross-linking) is a one-time procedure that strengthens the cornea and halts the progression of keratoconus. It uses vitamin B2 drops and ultraviolet light. Done early, it can prevent the need for a corneal transplant.
