IMPLANTABLE CONTACT LENS (ICL) FOR SPECS REMOVAL
Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) is an advanced vision correction procedure designed for people who wish to eliminate their dependence on glasses or contact lenses. Unlike LASIK, ICL does not reshape the cornea. Instead, a soft, biocompatible lens is implanted inside the eye to permanently correct vision while preserving the natural cornea.
ICL is an excellent option for patients with high myopia, high astigmatism, thin corneas, or those who are not suitable candidates for laser vision correction procedures. At Rana Eye Centre, our experienced surgeons perform detailed eye evaluations to determine whether ICL is the right solution for you.
Who is an Ideal Candidate for ICL?
- Patients with high myopia (minus power).
- Individuals with thin corneas.
- Patients unsuitable for LASIK or SMILE.
- Adults with stable spectacle power.
- People seeking long-term freedom from glasses.
Benefits of Implantable Contact Lens (ICL)
- Excellent quality of vision.
- Suitable for high spectacle numbers.
- No corneal tissue removal.
- Quick recovery and minimal discomfort.
- Procedure is reversible if required.
- Long-lasting vision correction.
The ICL Procedure
The procedure is performed under topical anesthesia and usually takes 20–30 minutes. A specially designed lens is inserted through a tiny incision and placed behind the iris in front of the natural lens. Most patients experience improved vision within a few days and can resume normal activities shortly afterward.
